Welcome!
Dear neighbor,
As your State Representative, I will continue to work to find sensible
solutions to create jobs, decrease healthcare costs, strengthen public
schools, and protect our natural resources. As
vice-chair of the House Education Committee I am working on bringing
more opportunities to Colorado's children. This means increasing access
to preschool and full-day kindergarten, making college more affordable
and creating more meaningful assessments.
As Chair of the 2006 House Select Committee on Strategic Renewable
Energy and a member of the House Agriculture, Livestock & Natural
Resources committee, I am committed to reducing our dependency on
fossil fuels and working towards utilizing Colorado's abundant wind and
sun energy. My priorities include creating more jobs in the new energy
economy and promoting research at our great colleges & universities.
My connection to and love for Colorado runs deep. My grandparents
owned and farmed the land that eventually became Lowry Air Force base.
For the past 25 years, my husband and I have raised our family in Adams
County. For 29 years I have taught in Colorado's public schools, and
supported my neighbors and community.
I am proud of my son who represented Colorado by his service in
Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division of the Army. I am equally
proud of my daughter's work with the Environmental Protection Agency's
clean-up of soil contamination in the Denver-Metro area. I believe we
all have a responsibility to make this world a better place.
As your State Representative, I will continue to work to find
sensible solutions to create jobs, decrease healthcare costs,
strengthen public schools, and protect our natural resources.
Together we can find sensible solutions to the concerns of all
Colorado citizens. I am honored to serve as your State Representative
from Colorado House District 31.
Sincerely,
Judy Solano
